This picture shows the pier at Saltburn-by-the-Sea. It’s the last pier remaining in Yorkshire.
Yorkshire is the largest county in England, so that’s quite a claim to fame.
Although plans to construct the 1,500 feet (460 m) long pier were set in motion in October 1867 there were a number of delays so the pier did not open until May 1869.
