I Looked, but I Didn’t Touch. I Think I Found a Cuckoo Wasp!

Dear Travel Diary,

I found a pretty-looking red and blue insect running up and down my window today. I didn’t get too close because I know the colour red often means danger in nature and I was worried it may bite or sting me. I did some research and think it may have been a cuckoo wasp, so there is good chance that any attempt to touch it would have proved to be painful. If it was a cuckoo wasp, the name apparently comes from its habit of laying eggs in the nests of other insects. So cuckoo wasps are a kind of parasite.
