Spain Again and It’s Good to Be Back

Dear Travel Diary

A couple of days ago, I was in Hungary. Today I woke up in Spain and it’s good to be back. The last time I was in Spain was just over a year ago when I left Granada and flew to Leipzig, Germany. Since then, I’ve visited lots of interesting countries and spent most of this year in the Balkans.

I’ve enjoyed all the places I’ve been but for the past few weeks I’ve been missing Spain, so it was time to make a return. I miss the Netherlands as well, so I may spend some time there later in the year. It would be great to get the chance to speak Dutch again. For the past year, I’ve had to mostly rely on English. Although, there were a few times when I got the chance to speak Spanish in Romania, Albania, and Italy. Now I can speak Spanish every day. I like that and plan to stay for two or three months.

When I was in Hungary, there was a lot of nice hot days. Often 30º+. There were also a lot of sudden storms. The weather can change quickly in the Balkans. Some days it was lovely and sunny, then there was thunder and lightning for half an hour or so followed by more lovely sun. The weather changed so fast the weather app on my phone couldn’t keep up and there was no point trying to rely on the weather reports online because they were often wrong.

The weather in Spain is more stable. I went for a walk earlier this afternoon and the sky was amazingly blue. There were no clouds at all. There wasn’t a lot of people around either. Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.
